I was investigating Facebook Groups and Pages for Universities, and came across multiple Freshers Groups for various different Universities that all look the same. Here’s some examples:
There’s loads more. They have the same text, and same picture, and it appears they all have an item in the discussion boards that links to Fast Student Cash. (HT to Robert Holbach on uwebd who blogged about it)
All seems rather dodgy but I’m not sure what they are getting out of it. Are students so desparate for cash they’d try this scheme?!
Seems more important that before that Uni’s create their own official freshers groups to make sure that new students get help and information rather than scams.
